A new multifunctional building, the Huis van Ten Post, is being constructed in the village of Ten Post in north-east Groningen. It will house the community center ‘t Holt, the Wieken primary school, childcare, the Reformed Church, the TEO sports club and various other associations. The completion of the Huis van Ten Post will create a new venue for meetings and activities. Everything under one roof. Spaces will be shared. The design was developed in close consultation with the future users. The building is located next to the sports fields and has a shared green garden with a square and playgrounds, designed by Ziegler Branderhorst. The spaces are organised around a central area, the Dorpsstraat. This is a space without a specific programme and can therefore be used flexibly.

The building is earthquake-resistant, detachable, energy-neutral and constructed from wood. As many bio-based and circular materials as possible are used, ranging from wood, bamboo composite and flax insulation to felt panels made from recycled PET bottles.
