Ravel is a low-traffic, green and mixed residential neighbourhood in the heart of Amsterdam’s Zuidas district, primarily intended for families. Staying, meeting, exercising and playing are central to the plan for this neighbourhood. Car traffic is therefore secondary and not permitted in public spaces. Residential and commercial buildings are located in this car-free landscaped environment. Ravelly is located on the edge of the neighbourhood on Boelegracht and is a building with 75 social housing apartments and a nursery in the plinth. The homes are organised around two porches. The building has a robust façade facing the park and a stepped façade with south-facing outdoor spaces on the waterfront.
